Pollinators face many threats today. Therefore we need to support more, and diverse, pollinators on the landscape. We treat the honey as just a fringe benefit of doing what is good for our landscape.
We have partnered with Dan & Bonita Conlon of Warm Colors Apiary in South Deerfield:
- We provide a bee yard to support a greater diversity of locations for Dan (current President of the Russian Honeybee Breeders Association) to grow and maintain his pure Russian lines chemical-free. These bees are remarkably hardy and selected for their resistance to many of the problems associated with modern commercial beekeeping.
- Dan provides our neighborhood with pollinators, and even some honey.
- We love farming with partners such as these.
